The year 2024 marks several events significant for the historical and cultural memory of the city of Dubrovnik. It commemorates the 45th anniversary of the inscription of the Old City of Dubrovnik on UNESCO's World Heritage List, the 15th anniversary of the inclusion of the Festivity of St. Blaise on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, and the inclusion of archival funds from the period of the Dubrovnik Republic on the Memory of the World Register in November of last year. These inscriptions make Dubrovnik one of the rare cities in the world whose material and intangible cultural assets have earned the status of universal heritage value.

With the aim of commemorating these important dates, the City Council of Dubrovnik has declared the year 2024 as the "The Year of UNESCO World Heritage in Dubrovnik" in the City of Dubrovnik. A rich cultural, scientific, and educational program of the anniversary year testifies to the universal value of Dubrovnik's cultural heritage, as well as the importance of its protection and preservation for future generations. The main celebration will take place from October 20 to October 27, 2024.

The PISA Governing Board’s Analysis and Dissemination Group (ADG), the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth of Croatia and the OECD Secretariat are co-organising a conference on 29-30 November 2024 in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Sabatina is the oldest winegrowing and winemaking economic meeting in the Republic of Croatia, with a 33-year tradition. First organized in 1991 in Čara on the island of Korčula and since then continuously held every year in a different city. You could say it reaches out to winegrowers and winemakers. Every year wine and spirits are evaluated by experts, professional and practical trainings are held for producers who become familiar with achievements in science, innovations, improvements and technical improvement in this branch, which affects the quality improvement of the final products. In addition to producers, consumers are also educated through various workshops, and Croatian wines and other original Croatian products are promoted.
The event program is a result of many years of work, experience and cooperation with scientific and research institutions on one hand, and winegrowers and winemakers on the other hand, and consists of various activities such as the Winegrowing and Winemaking Fair, exhibition and exchange of wine and grape and wine products, scientific and professional gatherings, numerous workshops with guided wine tastings, a round table on cooperatives, a study tour with practical winegrowing in the vineyard, etc.
