VAL PRESIDENT RELAX BEACH

Location: Babin kuk, near the President Hotel, Valamar Collection

The well-tended Val President Relax Beach lies on the Babin kuk peninsula at the foot of the President Hotel, Valamar Collection. This pebble beach has an elegant sunbathing area with sun loungers and canopies where you can enjoy a romantic view of the Elaphiti Islands. The beach also features a diving and water sports centre, the charming La Mar restaurant offering fine light meals, and a programme of summer events.

COPACABANA BEACH

Location: Babin kuk, near Sunny Dubrovnik by Valamar

If you’re looking for a pleasant beach where you can always find a place to park your car, we recommend Copacabana on the Babin kuk peninsula. The beach is divided into a public beach and the Copacabana Dubrovnik Beach, where you can rent a sun lounger or canopy, enjoy water sports, have a relaxing massage, or sip a cocktail at the beach bar and restaurant. On the public part of the beach, there is a bar and an inflatable water park in the sea, ideal for children looking for fun. The beach also offers a spectacular view of the island of Daksa, the Elaphiti Islands, and Dubrovnik’s attractive bridge.

BEACHES ON THE ISLAND OF LOKRUM

Location: island of Lokrum, 10 minutes by boat from Dubrovnik's old town harbour

Do you want to relax like the residents of Dubrovnik do? Then plan a day for swimming on the neighbouring small uninhabited island of Lokrum, to which a boat service is available from April to November. Lokrum will welcome you with its attractive rocky beaches, UNESCO-protected forest, botanical garden, peacocks, rabbits and other attractions. SVETI JAKOV BEACH

Location: under the Church of Sveti Jakov (St James), 1 km south of the Old Town of Dubrovnik

This popular sand and pebble beach lies in a secluded spot below the Church of Sveti Jakov (St James), after which it was named. You can reach it by steep steps, and then rent a sun lounger and umbrella. The view of the Old Town of Dubrovnik and the island of Lokrum is breathtaking. On the beach, you can rent a kayak to explore the surroundings, and then relax at a nearby bar.

ŠULIĆ BEACH

Location: in the cove of Kolorina, just outside the city walls

The hidden pebble beach of Šulić (aka Kolorina), a favourite of the locals, was featured in Game of Thrones scenes. The beach offers a beautiful view of the sea, Lovrijenac Tower, which rises on the eastern side of the cove, and Gradac Park on top of the cliffs on the western side. There’s kayak rental on the beach if you want to explore the impressive coast and nearby islets.

BUŽA BEACH

Location: at the foot of Dubrovnik’s southern city walls

To reach this particularly attractive Dubrovnik beach, you have to go through an opening (‘buža’ in the local dialect) in the southern city walls. The beach is steep and rocky with concrete terraces where you can spread your towel and enjoy the view of the island of Lokrum and the sea. Those who are braver can jump from the rocks into the sea, while those who have just come to relax can find refreshments at the bar.

SUNSET BEACH

Location: Lapad Cove

This luxuriously arranged sand and pebble beach in Lapad Cove offers spectacular views of the sunset. Here you can enjoy a quiet morning coffee, linger over a family lunch, or spend a lazy afternoon with a cocktail on a sun lounger. In the evening, you can listen to quality DJ music under the starry sky.

DANČE BEACH

Location: at the foot of the monastery complex and Church of St Mary, 200 m from the Old Town

Rocky Danče Beach, one of the oldest in Dubrovnik, is synonimous with Dubrovnik water polo. The sea here is deeper and a little colder than on other town beaches. Because of the rather large waves on windy days, it is more suitable for experienced swimmers. If you hear the bells from the Church of St Mary, it’s the nuns greeting Dubrovnik boats sailing beneath the city walls.
