WTA Makarska Open hosted by Valamar returns to the tennis courts from 3 to 9 June, with numerous exciting matches and an excellent accompanying programme. This women’s tennis tournament is renowned as one of the most important sports events in Croatia, and its 18th edition is the third that will again take place in Makarska, in Valamar’s beautiful tennis centre, located right by the sea.

The WTA 125 tournament features the best-ranked female tennis players from different countries, which results in very tense and interesting matches. In 2023, we had the opportunity to see a great match in the finals between J. Paolini from Italy and M. Sherif from Egypt, while in 2022, E. Cocciaretto from Italy and J. Niemeier from Germany competed for the title. This tournament is a favourite among female tennis players, who regularly return to participate. Apart from interesting matches, this sporting event also offers magnificent views of the sea and great atmosphere.

In addition to the tournament, the tennis centre hosts various concerts, and during the tournament week, the fun spills over to the city centre, where many restaurants organise numerous concerts and performances as part of the WTA City programme. In order to bring tennis closer to the youngest audience, children can enjoy Kids Day, where they can try their hand at some racket fun with the help of some of the female tennis players participating in the tournament.
