The RAFF is returning to Rab for the sixth time, with a programme that will delight true film lovers!

The festival will kick off with the film “Les Indésirables” by the already well-known filmmaker Ladj Ly, who participated in the Rab Film Festival with his Oscar-nominated film “Les Misérables”. This Croatian premiere will be attended by the film’s lead actors – Alexis Manenti, Anta Diaw and Aristote Luyindula. Another Oscar nominee is coming to the RAFF – the Danish feature film “The Promised Land” directed by Nikolaj Arcel and starring Mads Mikkelsen. The Rab screening will also be the Croatian premiere of this film, realised in cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark. This year, the RAFF will also present films by Croatian authors, with Goran Dević, a renowned documentary filmmaker, as a special guest.

Zdenka Kovačiček and her great band, who opened the first Rab Film Festival in 2019, are returning to the island as part of the RAFF Beat. Zdenka will hold a free concert on Saturday, 24 August, in Rab’s Varoš square, just like in 2019, when she made the audience dance in the Pjaceta festival square. The centre of the RAFF entertainment was moved to Varoš last year, where the music part of the festival will also take place. This year, the RAFF Beat is bringing to Varoš the popular DJ Maestro, who gained world fame by producing compilations for the legendary “Blue Note Records” jazz record company, while his compilations called “Blue Note Trip” have been sold in millions of copies. DJ Maestro is also famous for his performances combining jazz, blues and electronic music, and this is exactly the kind of performance he is preparing for the RAFF. Last year, the Rab audience had the opportunity to hear the Amsterdam-Zagreb band Soul Shadows, which is bringing the soul sound to the Rab’s Varoš this year as well.
