Organized by the Poreč Tourist Board with the support of the City of Poreč (Parenzo), this year’s edition of the Summer in Poreč promises to be the most exciting yet, running from June to September. The festival will offer a wide array of engaging programmes and performers to suit all tastes.
Kicking off this unforgettable summer event on 21 June is an opening concert featuring performances by Natali Radovčić, Toni Šimonović, Psihomodo Pop, and Martin Kosovec.
From 28 to 30 June, Olga Ban Park will host the inaugural ice cream festival “Gelato Park – World of Ice Cream Wonders”, featuring a rich programme for all ages, with a special appeal to the youngest attendees.
Fans of traditional a cappella singing (klapa music) are in for a treat with performances by some of the most renowned and award-winning local klapa groups: Klapa Rišpet, performing on 4 July in the main town square (Trg slobode), and Klapa Cambi, scheduled for 18 July.
Visitors can also enjoy Music on Square, a series of musical evenings in Trg slobode featuring local bands playing rock, jazz, blues, and more. These two-hour concerts offer a great opportunity for guests to dance and soak in the vibrant atmosphere.
The Magic is in the Air programme brings aerial silk dancing to Olga Ban Park, where visitors will again be dazzled by impressive gymnastic-acrobatic performances, stunning light effects, eye-catching costumes, and captivating music.
On 23 July, a Michael Jackson tribute band is scheduled to perform, followed by a tribute to the legendary U2 on 18 August.
A new addition to the Summer in Poreč is Sound of the Streets, a musical programme featuring numerous artists performing on the streets of the old town. Highlights include the world-renowned Italian baritone Mario Biondi, the local Latin band Cubismo, the Dutch electronic duo Kraak & Smaak, Amsterdam’s soul sensation Soul Shadows, and Natali Dizdar.
Visitors of the Summer in Poreč will also have the chance to enjoy open-air cinema under the stars. As part of Visions of the Streets, films about global music icons will be shown on the town beach, including Bob Marley: One Love, Back to Black (a film about Amy Winehouse), House of Gucci starring Lady Gaga, the musical biographical drama about the one and only Elvis Presley, and the film about George Michael – Freedom.
Alongside interpretive historical walks with the popular La mula de Parenzo Tour, the Summer in Poreč includes musical programmes such as the 29th Jazz in the Lapidarium and the 63rd Concerts in the Euphrasian Basilica, featuring the most eminent names in classical music from Croatia and beyond.
A new event in September is the Wine Town festival, which will take place in Olga Ban Park. Wine Town is an open-air wine festival, taking place for the first time in Poreč from 19 to 29 September.
