KRK FAIR – LOVREČEVA

Krk, 8 – 10 August 2024

The Krk Fair, or Lovrečeva, is also known as the longest-running town event! This year marks the 500th jubilee edition of the great annual fair, which dates back to the Middle Ages. Throughout history, the fair was an opportunity for sellers of food, livestock, wool, copperware, barrels and various handicrafts to sell their products at stands, under a special fair regime that enabled more favourable trading, to a large number of people who visited the town of Krk from all over the island and beyond. The three-day fair is still one of the town’s main social events, and it has preserved its main function of a fair selling traditional products made by small producers and family farms from the island of Krk, but also from all over Croatia.

Throughout its long history, the fair has also developed into a major entertainment event, hosting numerous historical associations, exhibitions of medieval knights' equipment, plays, skits, knight fights, children's workshops and demonstrations of knightly skills and knowledge at various locations in the old town centre of Krk. Evening musical performances by top performers will also add to the great atmosphere, and for this year's jubilee edition you will be entertained by, among others, Parni valjak and the Gipsy Kings.
